IF - Rambunctious

Bert was a rambunctious little dog with artistic bent for graffitti writing on snowmen with yellow snow.

Something you rarely see - a speech balloon from a dog - very tenious I know. Oh okay if you really want a balloon, here's an oldie....

As a kid I always wanted to be Batman like in the TV series, and one Christmas my Gran got me the Batman outfit, sadly she couldn't get my younger brother the Robin costume so she made one, he thought it was great - it actually fitted him better than my shop bought one. We never went out the house in them, hence the slippers. I do remember our teacher at school telling us not to watch the TV series as it could corrupt us - huh? This drawing is from a mini comic I drew back in 1988.

IF - Vacant

Fish always seem to have a vacant look about them, don't they? Which one would you say is the worst?

IF - Late

A doodle done while on a telephone call - I really should be paying more attention to the person on the other end of the line.

This was done by my 4year old daughter Edie from memory, after she'd seen Paul Cousins' Cloudarama at the Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight. The Superlambananas have now disappeared from the streets of Liverpool and surrounding area, 70 are being auctioned off next week - I think, and 34 to be auctioned on the internet on 16th Sept.

Thes are some drawings my daughter came up with after visiting Liverpool's City of Culture's Superlambanas.

As a youngster I remember being hauled up hillsides in the Lake District for views like this. I also remember being told not to run in the fog because it'd kill you, I'm living proof as to this being a lie.

IF - Punchline

This is based on a drawing my 8 yr old daughter started, I added the fez and hey presto a Tommy Cooper tribute act. His catchphrase or punchline was "Just Like That!"

Those not in the know, Tommy Cooper was a very popular British comedian (60's & 70's) who based his act on magic tricks going wrong. Although he was an accomplished magician and member of the Magic Circle. I remember as a kid he could make me laugh just standing doing nothing.

In real life he'd be funny too, he would leave a taxi, slipping something into the taxi driver's pocket saying, "Have a drink on me." The something turned out to be a tea bag.

This one of my old favourite jokes, I think I first saw it in the Beano comic.
