Whoooa spooky - look what happened to my alphabet spaghetti on toast - it's my name backward. What does it all mean??
Got time to finish illustration this week. Woohoo!!
A visitor at the beach you would rather not see. Bear man
Just returned from a week's holiday in St. Ives, Cornwall and took a photo of this boat, I didn't even know about the IF subject. See also the photomontage of St Ives below.
Remember the fear of having to read in front of your English class at school. Here's a top tip for all you youngsters out there, if you want to avoid being picked on - it use to work for me - when the teacher is looking for someone else to read - look intently at the book as if your really into the story. Of all my school years I was only asked to read about 3 times -that was for Macbeth, the part - King Duncan - go figure eh? somethings you just can't fight.
I got my love of music from my Dad - when I was very young he bought me my first Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dylan and Paul Simon LP's. He'd play his jazz albums at full volume when my Mum was out (still does) Basie, Ellington, Sinatra and Stan Kenton where my favourites. Then I discovered the NME and the John Peel Show, my brother and I would listen to the Peel radio at night on these big headphones taping our fave songs - Orange Juice, Josef K and Aztec Camera where mine - the Sound of Young Scotland.
Based on my 3 year old daughter's total disregard for safety - someone has to tell her.
This was sort of posted before for wind, but now has the girl added to it, the sign still the same.
Woke up with this idea this morning, I really should think about something else before going to sleep. This could be my brother and I when we were kids, obviously he was the one kicking the ball over - I had a terrific shot - ahem! - I hope he doesn't read this. Hands up anyone who gets the Mr Gruber reference!!??
Do you remember when it was all chirpy, chirpy, cheep cheep!
This what it looked like with a splash of watercolour.
This is an old one - actually done in the 80s - it was used for a change of address card when my brother and I moved out of our parent's house. Note the James Come Home t-shirt - it was all the rage once.
I went to Wigan Tech when I was a lad and everyone pronounced bus as buzz, another tenuous link.
Does the pose look familiar to you! You want a clue eh? This is homage is to those lovable moptops 2nd film - which scared the pants of me when my mum and dad took me to see the film when I was six. Anyone geddit??
Burgaboy was Batman's sidekick before Robin - but his crimefighting was hampered by not being able to pass a burger joint.
Inventing the cord telephone with cans and string with my brother - circa 6 years old. And I just noticed I can't spell "HEAR" - D'oh.
Inspired by the first joke I remember my Dad telling me - it was a a book called "Bubbles in the Bath" by Ivor Winderbottom. I found it hilarious when I was kid - it still makes me smile now, my 6 year old daughter finds it just as funny too. And no, we don't lead shelterd lives.
The first thing that came to mind was a line from a George Formby song "If you can see what I can see when I'm cleanin' windows" - eeh heh turned out nice again mother. - Perhaps you have to be a certain age and live in NW England to get this - or perhaps not.
This is a sketch of my daughter at one of her rare visits to the hairdressers. We have to bribe her to keep still with the Beano comic.
